by The Hippy Coyote
I woke up this morning in a strange turtle shell
When I moved, my body could be seen
When I talked -- I fell
When I walked -- I could tell
I was somewhere in between
Moving in space, moving in time
Each moment lives, each moment dies
When I looked -- I heard
When I listened -- I could see
Someone looking into my eyes (I like the word "eye" also.)
Hunger weakened the armor I wore
My shell seemed to weigh a ton or more
When I sat -- I could die
When I rested -- I could fly
To the end, the horizon
Someone called my name
I was born with a view of the ocean
Raised to touch the sun
Catching animals in the clouds
Walking barefoot in the grass
Warm nights of cricket-laughs
Purple and scarlet sky
Pull me close to my eye
Laughing alone out loud
Tasting the days of blue
Wondering where are you
There's another place to go
I can feel it, yes I know
This is the end, the horizon
SOLO:
There's another place to go
I can feel it, yes I know
This is the end, the horizon
I can feel you looking
RIght through me
That's all right, I'm not really here
Your mind won't hold me down
I wasn't born to stay on the ground
There's another place to go
I can feel it, yes I know
This is the end, the horizon
