Boy And King poem

Cedar Breaks by Coyote

The white ocean foam
Laughs with its mouth full wide
As the smiling seal protrudes
From the rumbling tumbling tide

Gulls dance and scream
Like children who can fly
The sun burns watch and stirs the wind
Like a teasing puppeter in the sky

Amid the tall old ancient trees
A boy feels small, much smaller
Yet colored leaves within his mind
Form a tree that can grow even taller

As the new King reaches out
Happlly arranging the sand and trees
Like toys to a boy
Reality now agrees
