LEVEL 3 BIOGRAPHY:

Rory G
performed by The Hippy Coyote
Electric Guitarist

by The Hippy Coyote

The Rich at Madame WongsAmerican Zen has been fronted by some amazing guitar players since 1977. Rory G, was the nickname Coyote used in respect of one of his guitar heroes, Rory Gallagher. Coyote's son was named, Rory, in 1998.

In the early eighties, Paul Attanasoff was fronting my band, THE RICH. He had been with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band the previous years. He played some amazing blues guitar. So I asked him how I could play and bend my notes as good as him. He replied, "Get a BB King record." So I did. I got a couple but I favored the live prison album--and learned how to bend notes really cool.

Paul's next gig was performing with Katie Sagal, then a star of the MARRIED WITH CHILDREN tv show. Now Katie's the mom on the SONS OF ANARCHY television series. I'm not sure where Paul is.

During the eighties I got to front my band, THE RICH, and INJUN, on electric guitar with my bass student, Sam, holding up the bass.

Jack Sherman left my band to join The Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1984? He borrowed my Marshall amp to record their first album. I still use that same Marshall amp.

There've been a few other guitar players, but now it's all Coyote. I was keeping their seat warm for them, but it looks like I'm destined to be a one-man-band.
